CAF names Mauritius refs for Heartland
The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has named referees from Mauritius to handle next weekend's CAF Confederation Cup second round first leg clash between Heartland of Owerri and Congolese side, AC Leopards.
The quartet of Seechurn Rajindrapasad, Bootun Balkrishna, Vally Vivian and Nunkoo Parmendra would be in charge at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, with Louis Lamotte from Senegal holding forth as match commissioner.
Heartland had a fortnight ago, edged out hard fighting Cameroonian side, Unisports Nkam to qualify for the second round, while Leopards recorded the mother of all surprises by beating top Tunisian side, CS Sfaxien.
General Manager of Heartland, Chief Fan Ndubuoke, has assured that the club will not take anything for granted against the invading Congolese declaring that the fact that Leopards got a result against Sfaxien was a clear indication that they are a good side.
“We are going to leave no stone unturned. Leopards are no doubt a good side. We will work hard to ensure we don't disappoint our fans. We hope to get better with every game as the competition progresses,” he said.
