'I was not a good mother': Shocking drug past of Jada Pinkett Smith's mother revealed in emotional new interview
With a superstar husband, talented children and millions of dollars in the bank, Jada Pinkett Smith appears to lead a perfect life, but it hasn't always been that way.
In a new video posted on-line, Jada's mother reveals she used drugs throughout the star's childhood and admits she 'was not a good mother.'
Jada, 40, actually leads the discussion in a revealing clip that shows her having an intimate conversation with her mother Adrienne Banfield Jones and 11-year-old daughter Willow.

Candid conversation:  Jada Pinkett Smith leads an intimate conversation with her mother Adrienne Banfield Jones and daughter Willow
The new web series called Red Table Talks, from Will Smith's production company Overbrook Entertainment, was posted by the family in honour of Mother's Day.
It shows the three generations of women engrossed in an emotional chat as they sit together around a circular red table discussing life, celebrity and motherhood.
Jada begins the chat by saying she wants it to 'represent raw conversations.'

Troubled past: Jada's mother Adrienne Banfield Jones admits she was not the best parent
They pull slips of paper from a bowl filled with questions each of the three has written down.
It starts with a question from Ms Banfield Jones asking Jada her opinion on whether she has become a better grandmother than she was a mother.
Jada assures her mother 'I don't look at the experience that we had as bad.'

Survivor: Jada says her rough childhood helped prepare her for the challenges she faced in Hollywood
Then they go into a bit of history about their pasts and Jada's troubled childhood.
Banfield Jones tells her granddaughter Willow: 'I had mommy when I was very young and then I got addicted to drugs after mommy was born.'
Adrienne goes on to tell Willow: 'It was a very difficult time for us growing up with her and Jada did not have the kind of life that you have now.
'I was on drugs until your mom was like 17 or 18-years-old. That's a long time.'
Adrienne never reveals what type of drugs she used, although it should be that noted that Jada drew up in Baltimore in the 1980's at the height of the American crack cocaine epidemic.

Turning a negative into a positive: Jada assured her mother she learned important lessons growing up
According to previously published media reports, Adrienne became pregnant in high school and raised Jada with help from her own mother.
In the video, Banfield Jones assures her family 'I have been clean for 22 years.
'I went into therapy and I remember trying to get your mom to come with me and do some therapy sessions and she just wasn't having it.'
Finally Banfield Jones says: 'I felt like there were things that needed to be said that she just needed to get off her chest.'
But Jada tells her mother she has no resentment saying: 'I turned all of that into power. So I used those things as motivation.'
Pinkett Smith graduated from the Baltimore School for the Arts in 1989 and eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, landing parts in several television shows and feature films.

Regrets: Willow admits she has difficulty dealing with being famous before she shares a hug with her mother
Later, Jada guides the conversation toward Willow and asks her daughter about her career interests with the pre-teen offering up some surprising answers.
'If I had to change one thing about my life, it would probably be, I wouldn’t be famous,' the 11-year-old performer admits.
'Because when you’re famous it’s so hard. Let’s say if a regular girl is going to the book store, it’s ten times harder to go everywhere [when you're famous],' Willow said.
