Like Ryan Seacrest, who found himself coated in the “ashes” of Kim Jong Il at the Oscars, Kim Kardashian unexpectedly found herself covered in a white powder while working a red carpet Thursday.
Kardashian was celebrating the launch of her new perfume True Reflection at an event to benefit the charity Dress for Success.As video from E! News shows, a woman walked up to Kardashian, yelled what sounded like “Lousy fur hag” and “flour bombed” the reality star. (The moment takes place at the 25 second mark in the video embedded below. Kardashian has been photographed wearing fur at public events many times, most recently at Kanye West’s Paris fashion show. In November, PETA placed a billboard in West Hollywood showing Kardashian in a fur vest next to a picture of live foxes with the words, “The babies miss their mother. Is she on your back?
To her credit, Kardashian handled the embarrassing encounter well. She told E!, “Like I said to my makeup artist, I wanted more powder and that’s a whole lot of translucent powder right there.”
Kardashian’s sister Kourtney was clearly more upset when she responded to the incident on Twitter: “Classy to flour bomb my sister at her charity event helping women. I wonder if they would have dared thrown the flour at my hormonal and pregnant self!
The alleged powder thrower was detained by hotel security, according to the L.A. Times, but was later released after Kardashian declined to press charges. Kardashian dusted herself off and returned to the event.
