Five contenders to replace Pep Guardiola as Barcelona manager: in pictures

Marcelo Bielsa
Current club: Athletic Bilbao
Age: 56

The former defender managed both Argentina and Chile before making the move to La Liga where the man nicknamed El Loco (the Madman) took over at Athletic Bilbao where the Argentine transformed the Basque side.
In his first season at San Mamés, Bielsa's side has impressed many observers with defeats of Manchester United and Germany's Schalke on their way to the Europa League final where they will face Atlético Madrid.

Laurent Blanc
Current team: France
Age: 46

The Frenchman has already had one spell at the Nou Camp, though the midfielder plyed just 28 games for the club before he returned to his homeland where he played for Marseille. The World Cup and European Championship winner later moved to Inter Milan before ending his playing career at Manchester United.
After managing Ligue 1 side Bordeaux for three years Blanc was called upon to replace Raymond Domenech following France's disastrous campaign at the World Cup in South Africa.

Ernesto Valverde
Current club: Olympiakos
Age: 48

The former Barça forward spent his entire career in his homeland of Spain where he also played for Deportivo Alavés, Sestao Sport Club, Espanyol, Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca before moving into management.
After learning his trade at San Mamés as the Athletic Bilbao assistant coach Valverde was handed the reins at their 'B' team Bilbao Athletic. In 2008 the coach joined Olympiakos where he has subsequently won three league titles. The 48 year-old, on April 19, announced that he would leave the club at the end of the season.

Luis Enrique
Current club: Roma
Age: 41

The former Real Madrid midfielder, in 1996, made the controversial move to the Nou Camp where he went on to score 73 goals in 207 appearances during which time he took the honour of wearing the captain's armband. Won two league titles and the Cup Winners' Cup with Barça before hanging his playing boots up.
Cut his management teeth with the Barcelona B team where he spent three years before taking over from Vincenzo Montella at Serie A's Roma.

Ronald Koeman
Current club: Feyenoord
Age: 49

The former Holland international and Barcelona midfielder was a fans' favourite during his six-year spell at the Nou Camp and is fondly remembered for scoring the only goal in the 1992 European Cup final as the Catalans won their first ever European title.
Koeman spent one year as assistant caoch at the Nou Camp before returniing to Holland to embark on his career in management.
